Big Surprises

It's rare when you find someone who is perfect to be your big sister. I honestly didn't think it would happen for me. I'm so blessed to have such a perfect big sister. It just goes to show you that every experience is worth it, no matter how busy or stressed it makes you. If you come out of it happily, it was worth it.

In other news, I'm on spring break... well almost. I'm home on my bed typing up a paper and then finishing up Spanish homework so I won't have to think about it for the rest of the week.

Xoxo.

Let's Get This Show on the Road

Happy Opening Night!!! It's opening night for the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone! I'm so unbelievably proud of this show and its cast. Everyone has worked so hard and we deserve an incredible opening. So thrilled with the cast, and my costume is pretty badass.

Among other things, my formal dress came in the mail today :) No pictures yet. When formal rolls around, I'll post full out hair & make-up pictures for the event. So excited I can barely stand still. I love my sisters, my cast, and my life so much.

Always live a beautiful and fulfilling life.

Making It

I think I may have survived the busiest week I have ever experienced in my entire life. Rather than go through every day and exhaust you with my tales of endless rehearsals, shows, activities, AXD meetings, and somehow fitting schoolwork in there, I'll just tell you that I got through it - and with a clear complexion nonetheless. :)

I am 100% determined to become the most organized person on the planet. You'd think this would be an easy task considering I already am pretty anal about order and neatness, but considering all of the things going on, I just haven't had the time to organize which just adds to my stress-levels. Honestly, I think I'm just lucky I haven't developed an ulcer.

As much as I completely hated every minute of this week, it could have been so much worse. I could have been spending this time doing something I absolutely hated - like neuroscience. The plus side to this entire stress-fest was that it was doing something that I absolutely adore doing. If I could have only gotten the planning down...

If nothing else, at the end of this semester, time management will be my bitch.

Going Greek

Disgustingly cliche and pathetic statement #1: I never thought I'd be in a sorority.
I had criticized and mocked any of my friends who decided to "Go Greek" because I thought that they were "paying for friends". I thought that it was an excuse to get together, get wasted, and be an asshole - to put it bluntly.

Disgustingly cliche and pathetic statement #2: I was dead wrong.
These girls are smart, wonderful people and they're my new family for the rest of my life. I could not be happier to be connected to these girls forever.

Saturday Night in the CITAY

Well, opening night has come and gone. 1 down, five shows to go.

I had a revelation last night. There are so few people who really enjoy what they do in life. So many people get stuck working for all money and no happiness (and it is my firm belief that those two components do NOT go hand in hand). I really am an incredibly lucky person. I have the greatest friends, the most beautiful and wonderful Mom in the whole world, and the coolest experiences. On top of that, I am fortunate enough to be able to do what I want to do and some how make it work for myself and my lifestyle.

As far as I'm concerned, things can only get better from here. :)

A Prerequisite

In my not-so-esteemed opinion, I think that educating students should be one of this country's top priorities (ranked under nuclear weapons, terrorism, and world hunger, of course). "The children are the future..." and all that jazz. However, for the students of this country to be educated in the best possible way, it is imperative that schools be equipped with the best teachers that money can buy.

This morning, while dozing through my 8am Spanish 1 class, my professor who - for the sake of her embarrassment - shall remain nameless was reviewing for the test that our class was having on Friday. We were reviewing cognitive adjectives and she came across the word "reading" - a clear mistake on the part of spanish lab inc. It took my professor about five minutes for her to fully understand that "reading" was a verb and not pronounced "redding".

I am the last person to criticize someone who is in an authoritative position. Chances are, they did something important to get there and as of right now, I haven't. That being said, I can not seem to rid my brain of the fact that in order for a person to teach Spanish in an English-speaking country, that they should be able to speak English, and very well. My teacher has been in the United States for 12 years, and while she speaks Spanish beautifully - because it was her first language, her English is really only sub-par.

All I have to say, is that it's a good thing I've taken up to Spanish 3, because if I actually had to count on this woman to make me become bilingual, I would be screwed.
